  1. On 3 April 2023, the Indian Army celebrated the 259th Raising Day of Army Medical Corps (AMC), specialist corps in the Indian Army which primarily provides medical services to all Army personnel (serving and veterans along with their families).
  2. Tapoban, an NGO based in Pathsala, Assam, which focuses on supporting children with special needs and autism, has been honored with the prestigious Children’s Champion Award 2023 in the health and nutrition category.
  3. The second G20 Sherpas meeting under India’s G20 Presidency, chaired by Amitabh Kant held in Kumarakom, Kerala, from 30 March to 2 April, 2023.
  4. According to the latest update from the Passport Index, India’s ranking has fallen by six places in 2023. As compared to 138th rank out of 199 countries with a mobility score of 73 in 2022, India ranked 144 with a mobility score of 70 in 2023.
  5. Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL), a company under the Aditya Birla Group announced on 27 March 2023, the sale of entire stake in Aditya Birla Insurance Brokers Limited to Samara Capital Group.
  6. Lashinda Demus, a runner from the United States, has officially become an Olympic champion with an Olympic gold medal on 30 March 2023, at the age of 40, more than a decade after the 2012 London Games.  
  7. Penguin Random House India (PRHI) has announced the launch of the English translation of the Nepali novel ‘Phoolange’ on 17 April, 2023. The book is written by a Darjeeling-based writer, Lekhnath Chhetri and focuses on the failed Gorkha movement for a separate state.
  8. Olympian Bhavani Devi bagged the gold medal in the women’s Individual Sabre category of the 33rd Senior National Fencing Championship at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex on 26 March, 2023.
  9. The government has launched a new Centrally Sponsored Scheme namely, ‘New India Literacy Programme (NILP)’, for implementation during five years from FY 2022-23 to 2026-27.
  10. Union Minister for Rural Development Giriraj Singh initiated ‘Captive Employers’, a unique initiative under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) in New Delhi on 28 March, 2023.
  11. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, has announced his eldest son Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.
  12. The second Agricultural Deputies Meeting of Agricultural Working Group held from 29 to 31 March, 2023 at Chandigarh.
  13. On 28 March 2023, Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, launched ‘Pathashree-Rastashree’ in Singur, West Bengal. It is a flagship project of the Government of West Bengal to strengthen road infrastructure and enhance connectivity to villages by constructing 12,000 km of roads in 22 districts of West Bengal.
  14. Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) successfully conducted a field firing test of a fire-and-forget man-portable anti-tank guided missile, Amogha-III on 26 March, 2023.
  15. The government introduced the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, which aims to increase the country’s exports to USD 2 trillion by 2030. The new Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023, announced by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, took effect from 1 April, 2023.
  16. On 2 April 2023, Salim Aziz Durrani, a former Afghan-born Indian Cricketer, passed away in Jamnagar, Gujarat, at the age of 88.
